My Artistic Side Gets the Best of Me

So I’m in a relationship with someone who is lovely and understanding, but there’s this thing that really bugs me. It started as harmless curiosity, my artistic side got fixated on exploring something different. You know how sometimes you get an idea stuck in your head? Well, it's like that but more... fleshed out. I began sketching scenes from my imagination involving bondage and other kinks I hadn’t tried before. Just sketches, nothing real or acted upon. Then, one day, I showed a few of them to my partner without really thinking about how they’d react. The look on their face was a mix of surprise and discomfort. They didn't outright reject it but there’s this tension now that wasn’t there before. Am I being unreasonable here? Is this normal curiosity or am I pushing too far into the realms of what we’re comfortable with? Any advice?
