...And Then We Split Up...

So yeah, here I am, recently divorced with this crazy urge to just let go. It's like my body decided it needed a break from the emotional turmoil and went all out on its own accord. I've been trying to be 'healthy' in the wake of our breakup, but when you hit your mid-30s and suddenly find yourself single again... well, the urge hits harder than ever. Last night, after finishing my divorce papers, I didn't even bother with a Lyft home; I just wandered into this dingy strip club on Main Street where the dancers are mostly older women trying to make ends meet. Figured why not, right? I mean, what was one more notch in the belt of my crumbling marriage? Anyway, there's this one dancer, Jane... she’s got these wild, untamed curls and these intense eyes that just bore into you like she can see all your secrets. She's at least a decade younger than me, but hey, I’m not here for love, I’m here to feel something real. We start chatting, she knows exactly what I need from her, and vice versa, and before long, we're heading back to her place... or maybe it was mine; details are hazy now. Once there, the sex is everything you’d expect but also more, it’s raw, it’s messy, it’s just what my body needed after all this time of feeling numb. I couldn’t even begin to describe every touch and sound, but suffice it to say, I got lost in it... and I’m okay with that. So there you have it. Another divorce milestone checked off the list, and apparently, another notch too.
