Late Night at the Hospital...

I'm not one to linger on the night shift much. I keep things professional here at the hospital... But last week was different. I had a late call from this guy, Alex... He'd been in an accident and ended up here with some broken bones. His girlfriend wasn't around... So there we were, in his room after hours when all is quiet but for the hum of machines... And it started to feel more intimate than it should have... I was checking his wounds... But he looked at me like I was something else entirely... We didn't talk much about what happened next... One moment we're just doctors and patients, then we're...something else. It felt so raw and unplanned... Just the two of us in a sterile room with harsh lights... I've never been one to go for that kind of thing, but he was so broken and vulnerable... I don't know how it happened exactly, but suddenly my hands were touching places that shouldn't be touched at work. And then his fingers, they slipped under my scrubs, finding me in ways no one should ever do... And there we were, on the edge of something dangerous yet thrilling. It felt so wrong and right all at once... Afterward, we didn't talk about it much either. Just that moment lingered between us like a heavy secret... Am I just being stupid here? Does this happen to other nurses too? Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who's ever crossed these lines in ways that feel both forbidden and inevitable...
