A Small Lie About My Past

I've been married for five years now to my high school sweetheart. We've always had an open and honest relationship, but there's one small lie that has lingered in the back of my mind. Last year, I went on a trip with friends to visit old college buddies. While I was there, I borrowed some clothes from my roommate and wore them out for drinks one night. When my wife asked me about it later over video chat, I lied and said I just had laundry that didn't dry in time. It's such a small thing, but it feels like it weighs on us more than it should.
