Just Not Into Him Anymore Physically

I know my relationship with Alex has been good. We’ve supported each other through rough times, and I genuinely care about him as a person. But lately, every time we go to bed together, it’s just... not there for me anymore. And don’t get me wrong, I tried. Really, really hard. He’s a great lover, always trying new things and making sure he knows what I like. He was so enthusiastic about exploring our limits last night that I couldn’t help but feel like we’re different planets sometimes. It wasn’t anything specific today, just another day of him asking if everything is okay with me, trying to understand why I seem distant. But there it was again tonight when his fingers were in my hair, pulling my head down so he could kiss me, and that’s when the moment died for me. His hands moved lower, down my sides to my hips, and all I could think about was how this wasn’t working anymore. My body just isn’t responding like it used to. And then it happened, we started. He was on top of me, pressing into me, his rhythm quickening as he leaned in for a kiss that never really connected with me. He filled me up completely and I could feel the hardness inside me, pulsing as he tried to take me over the edge. But all I felt was dryness and emptiness. I pulled away just when he was about to climax. “Alex,” I whispered, my voice breaking from trying to keep this quiet for him. He looked at me with those eyes full of need and confusion. “What’s wrong? Did you enjoy it?” “Yeah,” I lied quickly. But in that moment, the lie felt like a knife in both our hearts. And now here we are. Both of us knowing there’s something wrong but not being able to put words to what exactly it is. It’s killing me inside and out. Should I tell him how it feels, or just ride this out until he figures it out on his own? Do any of you ever feel like this? Is this normal?
