another weird kink

so i went out on a date last night with someone from tinder. we both knew it was just for fun and no strings attached. after some drinks at the bar, we decided to go back to my place. things got heated pretty quickly but then he said something odd. he wanted to tie me up and blindfold me. i know he meant in a playful way, consensual ofc. it's just...i've never had that kind of kink before. usually i'm more into the spontaneous and rough stuff, not this control thing. so i tried it out anyway, but it felt weird. like i couldn't really get into it or enjoy myself properly. after a while he got frustrated because i wasn't responding how he hoped. is there something wrong with me? does everyone secretly want to be tied up and controlled at some point? or am i just not built that way? should i try this again someday, or move on from it as not my thing? curious what others think.
