Little White Lie

So yesterday I was at the grocery store and saw my ex, who had a new boyfriend. We didn't really talk much when we were together, so I figured it wasn't a big deal to not mention that I'd started dating someone too. But then later in the day, I ran into his mom and she asked how things were going with me and this guy from work. And as soon as I said 'good,' I wanted to take back every word because suddenly my lie felt like it was eating at my stomach. The irony is that my new date is great, but nothing exclusive yet, so there's no real reason to hide anything. Now I just feel weird and guilty for this tiny fib.
