The End of My Secret Relationship with Hannah
Anonymous Hungry Beast #847 · General
I’ve been in this relationship with Hannah for over two years now, but it was never what you’d call conventional. We were both working at the same company and had a strictly professional front, where no one suspected anything out of the ordinary. I always felt like we had this secret life that nobody else knew about, and it made everything feel more intense between us. Hannah is a bit older than me and has been through her fair share of relationships in the past. She’s got a way of being very direct and straightforward when she talks, which I’ve always admired but also found intimidating at times. Our dynamic was unique; we would have these late-night meetings where things got pretty heated, and it was like a secret rebellion against the boring monotony of our daily lives. The trouble started to build up recently because Hannah decided she wanted more from the relationship than I could provide. She wanted public recognition and an official partnership that involved introducing each other at social events, something I just couldn’t stomach. My identity as a trans man is still very much in transition, and while I’m open about it with close friends, the idea of being out at work scared me half to death. When Hannah started pushing harder for us to be an ‘actual couple,’ I got defensive. We had this huge blowout argument where she basically called me selfish and immature. She said that if I didn’t want a real relationship, I should just leave her alone. It was hurtful, but in some ways, it felt like a relief too. In the end, we decided to take a break from each other to ‘figure things out.’ I’m still processing everything, and I can honestly say that if I could go back, I’d probably do exactly what I did again. The secrecy was intense but thrilling, and even though it ended in heartbreak, it feels like something only I will ever fully understand.
