Woke Up Alone After A Long Shift

Working night shifts is lonely enough without waking up alone in bed after a good round of sex with my partner. We’ve been together for years, but she has this habit of leaving early every morning when I’m still asleep. It’s not like it bothers me much, just that once we finish and collapse, I feel so empty as the minutes tick by, no warmth left in our shared sheets. She creeps out sometime before dawn without a word, and I lie awake wondering what she’s thinking about as I drift into an uneasy sleep.
