A Night with an Unexpected Guest

So last night, I was closing up the bar. Usually it's quiet by then, but there was this one guy who came in around 2 AM when we were about to lock up. He looked like he had been wandering around for a while, kind of lost and unsure. We ended up chatting for what felt like ages, just him and me. I mean, the rest of the place was pretty much empty by then. Anyway, after a few drinks, things got... complicated. Not that it was entirely unexpected, there's this thing about being alone with someone you find attractive, especially when they've been sitting in your lap for an hour or so talking about their life. He mentioned some stuff I probably shouldn't have paid attention to, but hey, at 2 AM, I wasn't thinking straight. We ended up back in my apartment. It's not that it was planned, more like an inevitable thing after such a long night of drinking and chatting with someone who’s clearly interesting and attractive. The funny part is, now I'm sitting here trying to figure out what exactly made me go from just bartending to getting involved with this guy I barely know. Was it the alcohol? Or was it something else entirely? I mean, looking back on it, maybe it was because he seemed so genuine and honest when we were talking, not like anyone pretends to be at a bar. He had these stories about his life that felt real, and for some reason, I just... trusted him enough to let things progress. But now here I am, thinking about whether this was really a good idea or if it’s all going to end up being another one of those regrettable nights where you wake up wondering what the hell happened. I guess only time will tell if anything comes from this. But right now, it's just sitting with these thoughts and trying to figure out why it felt so natural when before I would have never done something like this.
