A Breakup Text

Divorced from Karen two months back, I started seeing someone else right away, no time to wallow or overthink things. We went at it hard and fast. Last night though...I sent her a breakup text. Just out of the blue, no warning. Can't say why exactly, I didn’t feel like lying about my reasons either way. It was just...done, I guess? Sad to think back on how much she meant for a while there, but even that feels weird and inauthentic now.
