It's Not You, It's Me (Maybe)

I guess I should start by saying that things are okay with [her], really good actually. We’ve been together for a while now and everyone says we make a great couple. But lately, there’s this thing that keeps bugging me, something awkward about us in bed. It feels like... well, it's hard to put into words but it seems too mechanical, less spontaneous. I can’t shake the feeling that what used to be fiery and unpredictable has become routine. I know we both love each other deeply and take care of one another in every way except this, which is strange because I don't want her to think there's anything wrong with our relationship outside the bedroom. It’s like part of me isn’t fully present when it happens. I just... can’t get excited anymore, not in that way. Maybe it’s something I’ll grow out of or maybe we need to talk about it. But talking is scary because I don't want her to think I'm blaming anything on her. Still, the silence feels worse than opening up and risking a little hurt.
