A Bit Out Of Character

I’m a doctor and married with kids, but last night, I slipped into my scrubs and got called into work early by my OB-GYN friend for an emergency C-section. Instead of the usual stress and focus, she had me roleplay as a patient and pretend to be her husband delivering the baby, yes, that’s right, the doctor played the part of the mom while I delivered. It was bizarrely arousing, with all the medical equipment around us in my hospital scrubs. Afterward, we joked about it being a unique way to switch off for a moment but couldn’t help laughing at how out-of-character this scenario felt.
