Heartbreak at the Gym

I was dating my colleague, Sarah, for over two years. We were both personal trainers at a local gym and started bonding over fitness goals and healthy living. It was great having someone who understood my job pressures and could support me in it too. But recently, we've been drifting apart. Work stress got to her more than I expected, and she's been distant for weeks now. We tried talking about it but ended up arguing instead of finding common ground. The tension has grown unbearable between us at the gym lately. Last night, before we broke things off officially, I found myself drawn into a situation that now makes me question everything. In the locker room after my shift, Sarah and I were alone. She seemed upset but also kind of... vulnerable? I hesitated, unsure if she needed comfort or distance. Before I could process it fully, our hands touched as we grabbed towels. The spark was there, an instant reminder of why we dated in the first place. But then things escalated way past that moment. We ended up in a secluded corner where no one would see us and... well, let's just say it didn't feel right at all after everything. I felt like I took advantage of her vulnerability somehow, but maybe she wanted it too? It’s so confusing. Now we've officially called it quits, and guilt is eating me up inside. Did I betray her and myself by not respecting boundaries in such a messy situation? Or did we both just need an outlet from the stress for a moment? All I know is that my mind won't let go of what happened between us.
