so me and my ex were together for 4 years, we thought it would last forever until suddenly i started feeling more and more distant from her. one day while she was away on a business trip, an old flame messaged me out of the blue. before long we were talking nonstop about all our mutual interests that had never fit in with my ex's life. we met up after 5 years apart and it just clicked immediately, like no time had passed at all. i felt guilty for betraying my partner but also exhilarated by this new connection. i cant go back now even though rationally i know i should.
