I worked at the local coffee shop for three years now. It's where I met him, three years ago when he was still dating someone else. We started talking a lot, but it wasn't until six months after we met that his girlfriend broke up with him... and we were already so close, like an accident waiting to happen. We went out, and I thought finally, I had found my guy. But then one day, he was gone. Just left without a trace. Turns out, he wasn't done being in a committed relationship. They got back together soon after. The guilt hit me hard, guilt for knowing we were just fooling around, and guilt for still liking him even now when I'm over it... I still see him around town sometimes, but every time my heart stops. He was never really mine to keep. Sometimes I think about going up to him... but what good would that do? It's too late now... isn't it? ...
