I Lied About The Book Club

Hey, I know this might sound really small and silly, but it's been eating at me for weeks. You see, my partner and I are in an open relationship, so we both have our separate social lives and activities. A couple of months ago, I joined a local book club to meet new people, which was all fine and good. But one day when the club leader asked everyone if they had read the latest book, I confessed that I hadn't gotten around to it yet, the truth is, I got so caught up in other activities (you know what I mean) that I never found the time. Now every meeting feels like an awkward reminder of my lie and my failure to stick to commitments outside our relationship dynamic.
