Shift Work Confessions

So I got this job at night, and yeah, the hours are brutal... but you meet all sorts of people when no one else is around. My last relationship ended just before starting here... It's been rough on me emotionally. Anyway, there was this guy... we'd see each other every day after my shift, and slowly, over coffee breaks and late nights, things became more than just friendly. We decided to give it a shot, CNC-style... it felt exhilarating but also scary as hell, breaking all the rules we had in our previous relationship. It's hard explaining to friends why I've been distant lately... but honestly, this is exactly what I needed. Even now, when I'm not working late shifts, there’s still that excitement knowing I have him waiting for me when others are asleep... I wouldn’t change a thing.
