Small Lie at Work

I lied about calling in sick last week, I was just too tired after my night shift. But I went out for a coffee and saw my manager's car in the parking lot. He's so strict, but there wasn't even time to explain or apologize properly. It gnaws on me every day, this little fib that feels like a big deal because of how I got caught. Maybe I should have just said I was too exhausted, instead of making up some story about food poisoning.
