A Doctor's Weekend Mishap

So there I was this weekend, home from the hospital after a particularly grueling shift. My partner and I were just catching up over some wine when things took an unexpected turn. It wasn't exactly planned, more like one of those moments where you're both tired but something about the night makes it feel right. I have to say, despite my usual calm demeanor, this was a bit out of character for me. I mean, we've been together long enough that things tend to be pretty routine. But sometimes there's just a spark of something new, something you hadn't considered before, and suddenly you're diving into territory you haven't explored in years. I think part of the allure was the taboo nature of it all, knowing what we were doing wasn't typical for us. It felt like breaking some unwritten rules of our relationship, which is why I feel compelled to confess this now. Nothing illegal or harmful, mind you, but certainly a deviation from the norm. Anyway, as much as I try not to overthink it, it's hard to shake off that feeling afterward. And while we both agreed it was fun and shouldn't become a regular thing, there's still a part of me wondering if this changes how I view us going forward. But maybe that's just the afterglow talking. So yeah, that’s what happened last weekend. Not sure what to make of it yet, but at least writing it down feels like taking the first step in moving on.
