Last month, I bought an expensive gadget without telling my partner. She would’ve vetoed the purchase because of our budget, but I knew how much I wanted it. So, I claimed it was a birthday gift from myself and hid the receipts to avoid questions. Now, I feel like I’m living with a tiny lie every day, and it’s eating away at me.
