Engaged But Curious

I've been married to teaching for a decade now, but something happened last week that's had me questioning everything. My fiance is wonderful and supportive, always trying to understand my needs, even the ones I don't talk about openly. We were talking about our wedding plans when she mentioned how much she loved the intimacy we share at home, sweet and tender as it usually is. It made me think about a brief encounter from years ago that left an unexpected impression on me, just one time, with a student who understood my needs in ways I never expected or asked for. This student was older now, of course, but every once in a while, a thought creeps into my mind about what would have happened if... But it's silly to wonder really, and I love my fiance more than anything else in this world.
